House Prices
House Prices Grow at their Fastest Rates in 2 Years | In the 12 months to October the national median house price increased 6.1%, the fastest pace of growth in more than two years. Sydney 4%, Melbourne 3.3%, Brisbane 10.8%, Canberra 3.2%, Darwin 15.4%. Regional growth 7.5% At the end of October, the Sydney median house price is now $1.62m, up from $1.5m a year ago, while units have a median price of $874,000, up from $831,000 at this time last year. During the 12 months to September 2025, the average mortgage rate went from 6.4% to 5.5% Strong house price growth and higher than expected inflation numbers means its unlikely we are going to see any further interest rate cuts in the near term. |
